Project/Product Description

Product intercepts email traffic (the means of interception depending on the type of traffic involved -- SMTP, Exchange, Notes, Sun ONE and so on) and copies it for storage and indexing. A search engine is provided that can query large volumes of archived email by content including any attachments and metadata.

As relevant for government agencies, global corporations and small businesses, an organisation's communication system and associated backup files now constitute a critical hub of information. Today, email and other forms of electronic communication are used to convey and store a wide range of material.

Challenges

Took the complete product development ownership from Corporate Internet (CI) Engineering team in very short span of time Faced rigorous performance issues before release of 1.4 version that were successfully handled.

Achievements

PSI has played a very crucial role in managing the product for last 4 years; involved in architecture, development, feature enhancements, integration and its QA.

PSI optimized and made the Product 1.3 version, a robust product. Analyzed and fixed many critical issues on several live Product sites and restored the system back in real time.

Involved in architecture and design of Product’s 1.4 version; a complete revamped version of product, which supports compliance of Instant Messages along with emails. Product is re-designed to handle multiple document types like web pages etc. and it handles the processing of duplicate documents, which is required with many email servers like Group wise

Overall added several crucial features in product like supporting additional Journaling modes, adding message delete feature, management reporting, global search, message monitoring framework and attachment-processing framework.
